Job Description

TruckingJobsInUSA is actively hiring experienced Flatbed drivers for over-the-road (OTR) positions based in Montana. We are a CDL driver recruiting agency placing qualified drivers with vetted, well-established carriers across the United States — and we have immediate openings for drivers domiciled in and around Billings, Montana.

This is a full-time Flatbed driving position paying $55,500 - $78,500/year depending on experience, lane, and safety record. Home time: Out 1–2 weeks. We work with multiple client carriers, so once you apply our recruiters match you to the opening that best fits your home-time, pay, and equipment preferences — there is no cost to you, ever.

Pay context for Montana: the statewide CDL-A average is $53,800, and the strongest-paying metros are Billings (about $57,400), Missoula (about $54,800), Great Falls (about $52,600). Montana sits below the national cost-of-living average (index 95), so pay stretches further here — adjusted for living costs the equivalent is roughly $56,632. Wage trend is currently rising — Montana trucking wages are climbing as energy sector activity, agricultural hauling, and the state's growing population drive increased freight demand across vast distances.

Running flatbed in Montana means working inside a 80,000 lbs (131,060 lbs on state routes with permit) gross limit with 20,000 lbs single axle, 34,000 lbs tandem. Oversize and overweight loads go through Montana DOT Motor Carrier Services. Permits for heavy loads up to 131,060 lbs on state routes. Montana is oversize-friendly.

Winter operating requirement: Chains required on certain mountain passes during winter. Montana DOT chain-up areas on I-90 and US-93.

Fuel tax in Montana is $0.2975 per gallon diesel + federal, which matters if you are comparing per-mile offers across state lines. Inspection climate: Moderate. Montana Highway Patrol motor carrier unit conducts inspections at ports of entry and via mobile units. Focus on winter safety compliance.

How it works: apply with the quick form below (under 60 seconds, no resume needed), one of our recruiters calls you to confirm your experience and what you're looking for, and we set up interviews with the carriers that match. You choose the offer that's right for you.

We require a minimum of 12 months of verifiable CDL-A driving experience for this role. If you have at least one year behind the wheel and a clean record, we want to talk to you.

Requirements

  • Valid CDL-A commercial driver's license
  • Minimum 12 months of verifiable tractor-trailer experience
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) — no major violations
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical and DOT drug screen
  • At least 21 years of age (23+ for some lanes)

Pay & Benefits

  • Competitive otr pay ($55,500 - $78,500/year)
  • Weekly settlements / direct deposit
  • Medical, dental & vision options through client carriers
  • Paid orientation and sign-on bonuses on select accounts
  • Late-model, well-maintained equipment
  • Dedicated recruiter — one point of contact, no spam
