Dump Truck Driver — Local

We are hiring dump truck drivers for local construction and aggregate hauling in metro areas and surrounding counties. You will be transporting gravel, sand, asphalt, topsoil, demolition debris, and other bulk materials between quarries, asphalt plants, construction sites, and landfills. This is steady, physical, outdoor work — if you like being on active job sites instead of sitting at loading docks, dump truck driving might be exactly what you are looking for.

A typical day starts early. You will arrive at the quarry or plant by 5:30 or 6:00 AM, get loaded, and make your first delivery to a construction site by 7:00 AM. Depending on the haul distance, you will run 6 to 12 loads per day. You are responsible for operating the dump mechanism safely — watching for overhead power lines, checking ground stability before raising the bed, and making sure the load clears completely. Job site safety rules apply at every stop.

Dump truck work is seasonal in most regions — spring through fall is peak season when construction activity is highest. Winter months can be slower, though snow removal and salt hauling fill some of the gap in northern states. Annual earnings range from $50,000 to $70,000 with experienced drivers on busy routes earning the upper end. Most positions are paid hourly or by the load.
