Cement Mixer Driver — Local

We are hiring cement mixer (ready-mix concrete) drivers for local deliveries to construction sites, residential projects, and commercial builds. You will be operating front-discharge or rear-discharge mixer trucks, transporting fresh concrete from batch plants to pour sites. This is a time-critical job — concrete begins setting the moment it is mixed, so you need to deliver on schedule and pour accurately.

Your day starts at the batch plant where your truck is loaded with a specific concrete mix design. You will drive to the job site (usually within a 30-mile radius of the plant), position your truck at the pour location, and discharge the concrete through chutes or pump connections as directed by the finishers on site. A typical shift involves 5 to 8 loads. Between pours, you will wash out your drum, chutes, and hopper — keeping your truck clean is not optional in this line of work. Dried concrete in a drum will destroy it.

Cement mixer driving pays $55,000 to $75,000 annually and is in strong demand in growing metro areas where commercial and residential construction is booming. Most plants operate Monday through Saturday with early starts (5:00 AM load times are standard). The work is seasonal in northern states but nearly year-round in the South and West.
