The Tanker endorsement is required to drive any commercial vehicle that transports liquid or gaseous materials in a tank with an individual capacity of more than 119 gallons and an aggregate capacity of 1,000 gallons or more. This covers milk tankers, fuel delivery trucks, water haulers, and chemical transport vehicles. Tanker driving requires unique skills due to liquid surge and rollover risks.
